Hesketh Hall - Port Sunlight

Hesketh Hall - J.J.Talbot/Grayson & Ould 1902-03

Probably the finest example of pargetting (innivotively on a dark background) in the village. The Hall was home to the Technical Institute and now houses the Port Sunlight branch of the Royal British Legion. J.J Talbot was uninhibited in the use of 17th century domestic elements combining elaborate plasterwork with a bold half-octagonal bay.The pebbledashed frontage is rather tame in comparison.
